We love it ...the mine is deep in history .it really takes you back to how life was for the miners.. we took the tour a the tour guide is just superb.making it entertaining and knowledgeable... Keep up the good work
I would recommend this to anyone who likes history,deep and dark holes, old machinery. We opted for the guided tour and it's interesting and we'll informed. I feel we should all visit places like this much more often as they require massive money to keep such an interesting place open and that can only come from us the public.
Very disappointing. Extremely pricey. 70 for our group! Nothing at all to do with younger children, under 5 can't go downine. No play areas. We used to bring our children here years ago and there were bumper boats, a shooting gallery, radio controlled boats and a play area and a nice restaurant. Now just boarded up sheds full of junk. Site not safe for small children, old metal, and old freezer etc lying around. Even museum area not well laid out, it used to be great.
A mine great.There are two tours.We chose tour A which was 18.00Our guide was very good and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our visit very much.We were a little disappointed that some of the out buildings we a little run down as a previous visit these were little shops but now they were closed and no longer there.Worth a visit though because the mine is very good, and gives a good insight in to how hard they used to work back in the day.
This is an awesome place to visit. Our guide Robert was very knowledgeable and made our journey underground a fun and enjoyable trip. This place gets no funding which it really should as the guys who own it now have saved a fabulous piece of heritage that would have now been a housing estate.
