Extremely interesting area. You can get fairly close to the satellite dishes which are really interesting to look at. Unfortunately the visitors centre part of goonhilly is no longer open. A massive area to explore with loads of history to go with it. There's ancient burial mounds, ww2 air raid warning site with lots of ruins to explore, some old ruins of a farm and a ww2 airfield along with much more. Great views across to RNAS Culdrose where you can see military aircraft coming and going.
I love walking here. It's a fascinating landscape marked with ancient barrows and a standing stone, as well as remains from its use as an RAF station during the war--all overlooked by the Goonhilly satellite dishes. There are many paths close to the parking area but further off is wilder and can be wet in winter (and summer!). Croft Pascoe Pool and Forest attracts interesting birds.
Barren, desolate, peaceful. Love walking here. Just me, the birds and the Dartmoor ponies.
Great place. Loads of walking routes, and nice view at the local EARTH STATION.
Enjoyable, easy to follow walks over the heathland following the guides provided at the car park. Walks can be extended to any length you feel like doing. Never knew previously that there was a former WW2 Chain Home Station there, some ruins of which still remain.
