We usually use Janes fish and chips in Helston but seeing as they and Nettles were closed yesterday we thought wed drive down and try this one . The portions sizes were generous but that was about it , the fish batter was sloppy and the fish tasted cold in the 10 minutes it took to drive home . The chips were so hard you could hardly eat some of them and my children wouldnt eat theirs either . If you ate as soon as you collected it maybe better but I wouldnt make a trip especially for it again .
Great food, very busy but work the wait. I can recommend this quality eating place. 2 mins around the corner has the view to match-sitting next to the harbour. Love it.
Excellent haddock and chips. Freshly cooked hot and crispy. Please do not throw left overs to the gulls as they get aggressive.
I heard about the new owners so I returned to the shop and was overly satisfied with the welcoming staff, high quality food and quick service. The staff were lovely and chatty, they didnt get stressed when it got busy they served everyone just as quick. Brilliant!!
Only visited the once one evening after trying twice previously to only find it closes at 8pm. I bought the cod and chips and two separate cod. The cod was quite a good size and cooked just right, in a light batter that wasn't too greasy. There was enough chips in the two portions to go around four of us easily. Cod and chips twice plus two extra cod cost 20 and was good value for money. Just wish the place would stay open that little bit later.
