We visited Gallery Anthony in 2015 and attended a class led by Anthony showing us how to use Caran D'Ache crayon to create a moonlit seascape. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned a lot. We left feeling inspired to be more creative and I have continued to use watercolour and the crayons ever since to create paintings and family greetings cards. Well worth a visit and what a lovely patient and inspiring teacher Anthony is!
Lovely art. But was only greeted with the lady who owns it with rudeness. Me and my partner had merely pointed out that the music that was playing in the shop was what we listen to back home, and her reply in a sarcastic and abrupt voice was 'and!!!' As in so what... very rude. We chose to walk out at that point. Shame as we was going to purchase something. Not nice to speak to potential customers like that.
We stumbled across this Gallery completely by accident and how glad I am that I did. The art work was stunning and I could have spent a very long time walking round. My husband is a pencil artist and he spoke with Anthony about branching out into colour work. Received some great advice and bought the materials he needed at a really good price. We had gone to the gallery with our 4 children and while this has caused a negative reaction in numerous shopkeepers / business owners over the years this was not the case at all. My children were treated as people with kindness, consideration and compassion. Their questions answered and their small purchases processed with politeness and equal gravitas to any adult. My only wail is that we didn't know the Gallery was there sooner! We had driven past multiple times. The place is an absolute gem and deserves a very large sign out the front. If you are looking to take something home from Cornwall to remind you of your trip, then you need to visit this gallery because what you will find inside is a far cry from what we found everywhere else. Thank you for the time that you took with us. It is appreciated. :)
Very nice people at the gallery. Helpful lots of good advice. Some materials for sale. Nice artwork. Worth visiting.
We have several of Anthony's paintings and had one commissioned especially for our 25th wedding anniversary, a black and white seascape which is amazing. He is so talented and we can't rate his work highly enough
